This series started in 2000 and takes place in Virginia. It features Jane Sister Arnold, an expert hunter and master of foxhounds for the Jefferson Hunt Club. Jane is seventy and now has to plan for her club's future and nominate a joint-master. She is the most powerful and revered woman in the county. Nothing gets past Jane.... not even murder.
