Edgar Award winner David Handler writes the Berger and Mitry Mysteries Series which started in 2001 and is set in Connecticut. It features New York Film critic/author Mitch Berger and Connecticut State trooper Desiree Mitry. Mitch recently lost his wife to cancer and has become a recluse. His editor talks him into taking a non-film assignment in Connecticut where he rents an apartment. There he meets Desiree Mitry. Throughout the series together they solve murders. The first book in this series, The Cold Blue Blood was a Dilys Award finalist.
David also wrote Stewart Hoag & LuLu Mysteries series which ended in 1997. It featured ghostwriter Stewart Hoag and his faithful, neurotic basset hound, Lulu. David won the Edgar and American Mystery Award-winning for 'The Man Who Would Be F. Scott Fitzgerald'.
