Her friend, Jake Burleson, is accused of killing Tom even though the two men have been good friends for years. Dae doesn’t believe Jake killed Tom even though he has been acting strangely. He shoved one of the ancient stone horses found on his property into Dae’s hands when he knew she was afraid what she would see if she touched it.
