Sofie Kelly aka Darlene Ryan writes the Magical Cats Mystery Series which is set in Minnesota and started in 2011. It features librarian Kathleen Paulson who has moved to Mayville Heights, Minnesota. Kathleen takes in two stray cats-- Owen a tabby and Hercules a tuxedo cat. She discovers that the cats have magical powers and they help her solve murders.
